group list at the parent meeting, here is a copy. If your swimmer is not on the list, please email Kyle Supe (padfoot714@aol.com) to find out which group he/she is in.
Parent Meeting
The
2010/2011 Swim Team Parent meeting will be Tuesday August 31st at 6:30 in the gym at the Y. Aquatic Adventures / Greenhouse
Aquatics will be there with team suits for purchase. Please plan on attending.
Farewell Dinner for
the Polaks
Final call for RSVPs for the farewell dinner for the Polaks. Please RSVP to Letty Schamp at
lschamp96@hotmail.com.
When: September 2nd, 5 to 8pm. Dinner will
be served between 6 and 6:30
pm. There is no rain
date so come rain or shine.
Where: Homestead Park in the Covered Pavilion Lake Side.
What: Dinner and drinks will be provided. Bring chairs to sit on and
outdoor
games to play.
Help: If
you would like to help set up (around 3pm) or clean up after please email
Wendy Brooks at wendywjb@wowway.com. We will also be collecting any
goodbye notes or sentiments you wish to send with Mike and Jean. Please write on a separate peace
of paper and bring to the dinner.
Mark your calender. The first day of practice
will be Tuesday September 7th.
Registration for 2010/2011 Winter
Season There
is a link to ‘Active’ on the home page of the Hury website, www.huryswim.org. Click on the ‘Active’
link and follow the directions. If you registered through ‘Active’ for the summer season you will log in
as a "Returning User". If you did not register for the summer season and are a returning family, you will
log into the system as a "New User". Families should sign their swimmers up for the practice group they swam last season.
Beginner swimmers who were new to the team this summer should sign up as follows: 8 & under - tsunami blue; 9 - 10 tsunami orange; 11 & up typhoon blue. If the coaches
reassign your swimmer and your fees change, your account balances will be adjusted accordingly. All registration fees will be paid online while you are registering. Practice Schedule Practice for winter season will begin on Sept. 7th. Practice times and
days for each practice group will be the same as last year:
- Tsunami blue: Tuesday and Thursday, 5:15 – 6p
- Tsunami orange: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 5:15-6P
- Typhoon blue: Monday thru Friday, 6-7p
- Typhoon orange: Monday thru Friday, 7-8:30p
- Monsoons, Monday thru Friday, 3:15-5:15pm and Saturday, 6-8a.
Midnight Madness Invitational
The Midnight Madness Invitational will be Saturday, Oct. 9th.
Misc - The Hury handbook and 2010/2011 meet schedule is being updated and will be posted
shortly on the Hury Website. Costs for swim team listed in the 2009 Handbook (not updated) may not be correct
for the 2010/2011 season. The correct cost of will be listed in the online ‘Active” registration
system.
- The swim team will not be using ‘twitter’
this season.
- Greenhouse Aquatics will be the swim team vendor for the 2010/2011 winter season. They are now
located at Aquatic Adventure off of Cemetery Road by the Bob Evans.
Committee Chair Persons neededWe are looking for parents who would be willing to chair the following committees: - Meet Management
- Spirit
- Concessions
- Welcome
- Banquet
- Apparel
